Athlete of the Week
Jan. 18th
Brinn Shaw
Brinn Shaw is a consistently positive and hardworking player, and this past weekend she once again showed why she is such an important part of our team. She brings a great attitude every time she steps on the court and is always focused on improving her game. Brinn never shies away from challenges and continues to push herself to get better.
As our point guard, Brinn did an excellent job handling the ball under intense pressure and keeping our offense moving. Even as one of the smallest players on the floor, she played fearlessly and finished the weekend as one of our top rebounders. She also showed great toughness and confidence at the free throw line after taking contact and drawing multiple fouls.
Brinn’s coachability truly stands out. She is always asking for feedback and immediately puts it into action. Defensively, she matched up against bigger and faster opponents, stayed disciplined, and worked relentlessly to create turnovers and give our team extra possessions.
Brinn is the type of athlete every coach wants—dedicated, tough, and driven to learn while channeling her aggressiveness in positive ways. Coach Sara and I love coaching you, Brinn, and we are excited to continue watching you grow and develop as a player. Congratulations on Athlete of the Week!
Honorable Mention
She played with all our effort for both games and was doing a great job of cutting to the hoop and running the offense. On the defensive end, she was stopping the ball great and helping on every play.
Maya had a great first game this weekend, playing strong defense and hustling every play. She stayed disciplined, grabbed key rebounds, and turned offensive rebounds into baskets. Her effort and smart play make her a huge asset to the team.

Past Athlete of the week
Katalina O'Dell
She did a fantastic job taking feedback and immediately applying it on the court. She worked incredibly hard to stay strong under the hoop and had two outstanding games because of it.
Riahlyn Cain
Riahlyn was incredibly strong in the paint this weekend, both defensively and offensively. Her consistent hustle and effort were incredible.
Tess Logan
Logan put together an outstanding performance over the weekend, highlighted by an impressive triple-double. Even more than the stats, what stood out to us as coaches was her unselfish play and constant willingness to share the ball. She elevated her teammates, made right decisions, and showed the kind of leadership that makes everyone around her better.
Georgia Moat
Georgia Moat played 5 amazing games of basketball this weekend. Her defense was on point. She really applied the pressure to our opponents, denying them the lane and baseline as well as leading the team in steals this weekend. She also did well on offense, setting some key screens that really opened up the lane for other players, had some great assists and shot 87% on the weekend.
Reese Weimer
Reese played very well this weekend in both games. She stayed positive throughout and played excellent defense, staying tight on her girl while also providing strong help defense. She hustled back on defense and made several smart steals and rebounds. Offensively, Reese was just as effective, setting solid picks to get teammates open, cutting hard, moving the ball well, taking smart shots, and attacking the lane when it was open.
Addie Shaw
Addie is an absolute terror on the defensive end of the floor, and her offensive game is making huge strides. She’s the kind of player every coach loves to coach. She sacrifices her body for every loose ball, never complains about taking on a tough assignment, and is a total gym rat we often have to kick out of the building at night. Her ball-handling skills and vocal leadership are growing every week. She’s a dog in every positive sense of the word. We, coaches can’t say enough good things. Keep up the hard work, girls, this is just the beginning.
Calla Glass
Calla hustled the entire time she was on the court and played great defense. In both games, we built early leads, and when the games got close late, Calla knocked down key shots in each game to push the lead to four points and ice the win.
Mariana Kmiecik
Mari stepped up in a huge way during a tough weekend of games. She took control on offense, playing aggressively. She stayed disciplined on defense, making smart plays and blocking shots without overcommitting. We played five of our toughest games between Saturday and Sunday, and she consistently pushed herself and supported her teammates, showing grit, composure, and a true team-first mindset.
